Music Tracker Paper by retrotailsprower Music Tracker Paper by retrotailsprower
I've used paper to track songs in my free time at school for LONG ENOUGH. I'm ordering 120 copies of this (a newer version with many more features and more room anyway)
Good idea? I'm patenting it soon. Seriously.
There is also an instrument paper that comfortably fits 32 instruments with reso, cutoff, a VST plugin, a paragraph description, a small box for an approximate waveform, plus the instrument number, panning, and obviously the name.

Thanks! BTW can you just write a song out, like remembering C#3 etc? Because I made this to be easy for people like me who have an idea in their head but can't track it without an instrument or a tracker. You know those parts of the columns that are either # or - and the octave right beside it? You can put an arrow up or down to say if the note is higher or lower from the last, and use the octave column for approximately how many notes. Then you leave the - blank for minus and add a line for + to make it x notes up instead of down. Kind of complex but it actually works, I've done it.
Want to test it? I can send you a PNG of the newer version with lighter colors made for pencil, and also the instrument paper.

sounds like a good idea, but... music is never thought?

What? You mean not memorizing C-3 etc?

music comes out of experimenting.. you can write it down just out your mind.
at least.. there aren't much people who do or can do that

I get ideas in my head all the time. I write it in OpenMPT when I get home (MPT is the initials of my name btw) then I edit it from there. When I get an awesome idea, I never want it to go to waste. Unfortunately, I'm the only one who likes the songs but I do it just because I like it.

that's cool.
well I sometimes do get cool melodies or mixen in my head.
but don't know how to write it down.
so just random play stuff on the keyboard sometimes.. hoping that I can get some of the melody's back.
